Our history

Some studies show a garish shortage of skilled senior staff in Africa. This is due to the fact that most institutions of higher learning offer training which does not integrate the needs of enterprises or does not endow their learners with the skills to create jobs by themselves. Moreover, academic facilities do not offer the needed capacities and talents for the labor market. It was from this observation that the NGO named ADAF (Appropriate Development for Africa Foundation), which is based in Cameroon, created the PKFokam Institute of Excellence in June 2006, a private mixed and non-denominational institute of higher Education.

In Partnership with an American University, the Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) of Marietta, Georgia which merged with the Kennesaw State University (KSU) in 2014.The PKFokam Institute of Excellence has designed flexible, Practical and well adapted programs for its students. This was done in view of enabling them to develop necessary competences and aptitudes to fill society gaps in matters of leadership. Faith, integrity and excellence are our master words, with the sublime ambition to train the leader of the 21rst Century ready to take up the challenge of development.

Programs Structure

Our program is a double degree track program offered in partnership with top-tier American and Asian universities.

A double degree track means:

  1. The student spends a minimum of three years on-site on our Yaounde campus and may travel to our partner’s campus for their senior year and graduation,

or

  1. The student completes the degree program in four and a half years on our Yaounde campus, blending on-site and/or online courses from both universities.
  2. In both cases, the student graduates with a degree from each university.

Financial Assistance

Excellency Scholarship (Engineering)

Excellence Scholarship : The following scholarships are available to candidates admitted into the Engineering Programs of PKFokam Institute of Excellence on the basis of the attending criteria:

  • A mention “ASSEZ BIEN” at the Baccalaureate or 15 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 1.000.000
  • A mention “BIEN” at the Baccalaureate or 16 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 1.500.000
  • A mention « TRES BIEN » at the Baccalaureate or 20 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 2.500.000
  • A mention « ASSEZ BIEN » at the Baccalaureate or 22 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 2.500.000

Compassionate scholarship: Financial aid for brilliant students from poor homes who successfully take our entrance exam. Scholarships shall be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Excellency Scholarship (Economics)

The following scholarships are available to candidates admitted into the Economics Programs of PKFokam Institute of Excellence on the basis of the attending criteria:

  • A mention “ASSEZ BIEN” at the Baccalaureate or 15 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 750.000
  • A mention “BIEN” at the Baccalaureate or 16 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 1.000.000
  • A mention « TRES BIEN » at the Baccalaureate or 20 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 1.500.000 FCA
  • A mention « ASSEZ BIEN » at the Baccalaureate or 22 points at the G.C.E A level in Science Subjects + a pass at the competitive entrance exam: CFAF 2.000.000 FCFA
